From the festival organizers:
It is with a heavy heart that we must inform our wonderful community of festival-goers, bands, merchants, vendors, volunteers, partners, and sponsors, that we have decided to cancel the 2020 Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival following the guidance of the CDC and District of Columbia. Our team has been working incredibly hard to throw a fun event that raises critical funds for Living Classrooms’ hands-on education programs on Kingman Island and in the District. However, the health and safety of our community is our first priority.
No Festival in 2020 means we need your support now more than ever!!
For the past 10 years, this Festival has raised critical dollars to support the thousands of DC schoolkids who use Kingman Island over the course of a year to learn about the environment – and we still need your support to continue this important work. For those who have already purchased tickets, we respectfully ask that you consider allowing us to retain funds as a donation to the Kingman & Heritage Islands Education and Community Fund. Your donation is tax-deductible and would greatly help us in this time of uncertainty. This option requires no action on your part.
For those who have not purchased tickets yet, please consider making a donation through the link below.
Please consider making an additional donation above your ticket purchase to include what you would have spent at the Festival.
Thank you for your support of Living Classrooms, this Festival, and Kingman & Heritage Islands. We value our community so much and during this uncertain time, it’s important to remember that we are in this together. Wishing everyone health & safety.
