According to the Board of Directors of the DC Bluegrass Union, this years festival has been canceled. The complete message from the board follows:
Regretfully, the DC Bluegrass Union (DCBU) is cancelling its 2020 DC Bluegrass Festival and Mid-Atlantic Band Contest scheduled for March 28th.
We recognize the importance of social distancing in the effort to contain transmission of the novel coronavirus. This same recognition is reflected in the decision of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington DC to close its churches until conditions warrant re-opening them. This action applied to our venue at The Falls Church Episcopal.
DCBU makes this announcement with great appreciation for our artists, sponsors, and patrons. To arrange a refund of payments or purchases you have made for the Festival or Band Contest, please send a request by email to dcbuacct@gmail.com and include the name that should appear on the refund check, along with your mailing address. We will appreciate your patience in receiving your refund. Note that Eventbrite will not process refund requests for our event from its ticket site.
Because DCBU is an all-volunteer non-profit, we invite supporters to consider treating their payments as donations. Should you choose that option – and we thank you! – you may request a letter from us that acknowledges your charitable gift. Please make your request to dcbuacct@gmail.com and provide your name(s) and mailing address.
