Bryce Avary of The Rocket Summer brought his ‘Do You Feel’ ten year anniversary tour to the Rock & Roll Hotel in Washington, DC this past Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Avary released Do You Feel in July 2007. The album was a hit reaching No. 44 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 16 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart.
Avary has the gift of being a multi-instrumentalist. When recording his albums he uses his skills to the fullest by not only playing every instrument, but also writing and producing every song. On the album, Do You Feel, Avary is credited for vocals, guitar, bass, cello, drums, piano, percussion, organ, wurlitzer, synthesizers, and harmonica.
The shoulder to shoulder crowd at the Rock & Roll got to witness the multi-instrumentalist play guitar, drums and keyboard during his show. And for the first time ever, they heard Avary perform Do You Feel in its entirety live. From start to finish, Avary had the crowd with him and singing along. You could tell he was genuinly enjoying himself while playing crowd favorites like Save, Break It Out, Do You Feel, and So Much Love. He also played Run To You in the middle of the crowd.
Even though Do You Feel was the focus of the night, Avary played hits from his other albums too. If he is coming to a city near you, the show is worth every penny. Photo highlights from the show follows.
