This weekend, Summer Spirit Festival presented by CD Enterprises will take place at Merriweather Post Pavilion in in Columbia. Headlined by Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Bell Biv Devoe, the festival will also include Fantasia, De La Soul, Common, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Ro James, EU featuring Sugarbear, Moonchild, Wisdom Speeks, SWV, Internet, Jazmine Sullivan, En Vogue, Trouble Funk, DJ Kool, and Tish Hyman.
In addition to a stellar lineup, Merriweather Post Pavilion, which has been the yearly home of the festival, just finished going through $55 million dollars worth of renovations. The renovations that have taken place include updated concessions, VIP areas, box office, seating, the stage, and backstage areas. I’m looking forward to seeing the renovations for the first time too.
If you have not been to Merriweather since last years Summer Spirit Festival, parking at the venue has changed. Here’s how:
Attention: Parking at Merriweather for 2017 has Changed! All ticketholders NEED to pre-select parking (or decline parking) once tickets have been purchased. Once you’ve completed your purchase, you’ll receive a confirmation email with link to select your FREE parking. Please do so in advance so you have a lot assignment & ticket when you arrive for the show.
Note to walkers, bussers, carpoolers & cyclists: If you have made other transportation arrangements, there’s no need to select parking.
If you bought a weekend pass and are planning on driving to both days of 2017 Summer Spirit Festival, please select a parking ticket for Each Day of the Festival (see your confirmation email for links). No refunds or exchanges. -Merriweather Post Pavilion
Tickets are still available for single day tickets and for two day passes. Don’t forget to check the weather forecast before heading to the festival and the list of what you can and cannot bring into the festival.
