Jeff Kaplan Memorial Concert & Gathering at Rams Head Live
Via Rams Head Live– “Jeffrey Alan Kaplan, 43, died tragically on January 7, 2015, in a multi-car accident near Annapolis, his hometown for the past 40 years. He attended Annapolis High School and Full Sail University in Orlando, FL, where he received an associates degree in audio engineering. Over a 20-year career, he became a highly skilled and respected sound engineer, mixing sound at concerts held in large venues before thousands of fans. He toured worldwide with numerous well-known artists and bands, including Snoop Dogg and A Day To Remember. He also could double as tour manager. He was known best for his technical knowledge, mentoring, problem solving, abundant generosity, and patience while on tours by bus and plane throughout the United States and in Europe, Russia, India, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South America and more. He was truly a world traveler. Between tours, Jeff would return to Annapolis to rest and reunite with family and friends. He occasionally mix sound for Rams Head in both Annapolis and Baltimore while home. Jeff’s pride and joy was his 7-year-old daughter, Vivien Kaplan. She was often the topic of conversation on tours as he proudly showed off photos and videos of her performing locally or in self-made videos. Jeff and Vivien recently traveled to Hollywood, CA, when Kohl’s/Disney chose her video as one of ten out of 4,000 contestants who competed for an opportunity to be in a Disney commercial. In addition to Vivien, Jeff is survived by his parents Harvey Kaplan of Boca Raton, FL, Katherine Larrabee of Annapolis, MD, and her husband David Larrabee, a half brother Ronald Ely and his wife Amy Ely of La Plata, MD, two nephews, and his beloved Michelle Herr of Temecula, CA.”
