Thousands of people filled the grounds of RFK stadium for the first major music festival of the year in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area, Shamrock Fest 2014. The festival featured three stages dedicated to Irish rock bands, alternative bands, indy bands, and hip hop acts. The largest crowds for the day gathered for the headlining band the Dropkick Murphys, as well as, the band Black 47, and the band Carbon Leaf.
For those who wanted to keep it all Irish all the time, there was a stage dedicated to Irish dance, Irish music, and Irish pub games. And for those who just wanted to dance and let loose, there were two areas that featured DJ’s including the Midtown Partyplex which featured nine DJ’s throughout the day including DJ Chris Styles, DJ Flow, and DJ Candy D.
Lastly, festival attendees could participate in what was billed as the largest cornhole tournament in the Mid-Atlantic, and enjoy various Midway rides, games & activities. And of course there was plenty of beer provided by a number of beer trucks.
