Sunday night is usually a slow night for concerts in the DC/Maryland/Virginia metro area. However on Sunday, December 15, on stage at the same time were, Lauren Hill at the 9:30 Club in DC, Mint Condition at the Baltimore Soundstage, and Chicago’s own Lupe Fiasco at Rams Head Live in Baltimore.
Touring in support of his upcoming album “Tetsuo and Youth”, which is scheduled for release some time in early 2014, Lupe Fiasco decided to end his 31 city tour in Baltimore. Joining Lupe on the tour were, Mickey Factz, Dee-1, Stalley, and The Boy Illinois. In addition to promoting his new album, the whole idea of the tour was for Lupe to return the favor that he was given as an up and coming artist and provide a platform for up and coming artist of today to display their talents. Hence the name “Tetsuo and Youth Preview Tour”

“Tetsuo and Youth” will be Lupe’s fifth album. “It’s a street record, it’s a dance record, it’s a ratchet record,” he said during an interview with Jim Dalrymple II of The Salt Lake Tribune. The first single from the album, “Old School Love” featuring Ed Sheeran, was released in the middle of October. The single is currently sitting at #97 on Billboard’s top 100 chart and at #28 on the Hot R&B and Hip Hop songs chart.
In addition, a few artists have been confirmed to be on “Tetsuo and Youth”, including Trae the Truth, Glasses Malone, Big K.r.i.t, and Rick Ross.
