More than 14,000 people took to the beaches of Sandy Point State Park to participate in the 16th Annual MSP Polar Bear Plunge to help raise a record $2.5 million for Special Olympics Maryland.
Since 1997, more than 82,000 people have taken “the plunge” into the Chesapeake Bay for Special Olympics Maryland. The 2.5 million dollars raised this year brings the total amount raised over sixteen years to 21.6 million.
The MSP Polar Bear Plunge is an annual event that benefits Special Olympics Maryland. It is also the states most successful single day fundraiser.
