Artscape is a 3-day arts festival that features live concerts, theater, fashion shows, films, experimental music, opera, dance, jazz and vocal competitions, crafts, the fine arts, children’s entertainers and much, much, more. The festival is the largest free arts festival in the country with an average attendance of 350,000 people.
The Mount Royal neighborhood of Baltimore, which is home to the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), The Lyric Opera House, The Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, and the Baltimore Theatre Project, is where the majority of the festival takes places. However, over the past few years the festival has expanded and now includes a larger portion of Charles Street, and the Station North Arts & Entertainment District.
This year is the 29th year that Artscape is being held. This years festival will be held from Friday, July 16 to Sunday, July 18. With so much to hear and see, this weeks list of adventures focuses on what Off the Beaten Path feels is off the beaten path at Artscape.
Enjoy!
