Four years ago, the Sweetlife Festival took place in a parking lot in Washington, DC. The festival drew a modest crowd of 500 people. Not bad for a small local festival. Since that time, the festival has moved to a much larger venue then its humble beginnings, Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. This year the festival attracted an audience nearly 400 times larger then the 500 people who attended the festival in its inaugural year. Nearly 20,000+ people attended Sweetlife Festival 2014 to see a lineup that included headliners Foster the People and Lana Del Rey. Also on the bill were Bastille, Fitz and the Tantrums, 2 Chainz, Chromeo, Gems, Capital Cities, Bombay Bicycle, Hozier, Astr, Spirit Animal, Nicky Blitz, and more.
The musical acts performed on one of three stages and the festival grounds were filled with vendors from some of the best restaurants and food trucks in Washington, D.C. Including, Pete’s New Haven Style APizza, Jose Andres’s, Shake Shack, Dolcezza Gelato, Pho Wheels, Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken, the Big Cheese Food truck, and more. The festival was presented by Sweetgreen, a farm to table kitchen that sources local and organic ingredients from farmers to make-up the menu in its restaurants.
