Kendrick Lamar performs during the BET Music Matters tour at Rams Head Live on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in Baltimore, MD.

The BET Music Matters Tour featuring Kendrick Lamar made a stop at Rams Head Live in Baltimore, MD this past Wednesday. This was the first BET Music Matters Tour that featured all hip hop acts. Previous tours have been filled with up and coming stars of R&B music like Estelle, Marsha Ambrosius, Melonie Fiona, and Elle Varner to name a few.

Kendrick Lamar has quickly been making a name for himself in the hip hop industry. His hit single The Recipe featuring Dr. Dre could be heard all over radio this past summer. The Compton native’s highly anticipated debut album, Good kid m.A.A.d.City will be out on October 22, 2012. His most recent single Swimming Pools (Drank) peaked at 20 on the Billboard Rap Songs chart.

Performing on the bill with Kendrick Lamar were fellow members of the hip hop super group Black Hippy, which Lamar is a part of, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul. Also on the bill were the hip hop group Fly Union out of Ohio and another Ohio native and Maybach Music Group member Stalley.

The BET Music Matters Tour featuring Kendrick Lamar will continue until late October. More information can be found by visiting http://www.bet.com/music/music-matters.html

ABOUT

Ever since I borrowed a camera from a friend of mine eight years ago, I have loved sharing what I see through the lens of my camera with the world. There is nothing better than making somebody feel like they were right there with you. A brief moment in time, by way of photography, can say so much. I hope that these brief moments in time point people in the direction of someplace, something, or someone that they may not be aware of, and that they are curious enough to go see for themselves.
